Review Policy

Note to authors and publishers:

I would love to review or promote your book. While I do read some Adult and New Adult books, my main preference is Young Adult fiction. Below you will find a list of my preferred genres:

  • All Paranormal
  • Dystopian
  • Mythology
  • Fantasy
  • Science Fiction
  • Historical Fiction

I do read contemporaries, mysteries, and thrillers as well, but they are not my favorite genres and I am less likely to enjoy these books, so please bear that in mind. I will not accept any Middle-grade or Tween novels. If a book is part of a series, I will not read it unless I have read the previous books in the series.

I will accept ARCs, finished copies and some self-published books, although I kindly ask to include in your review request: a link to your website, Goodreads link and the book cover. All books will be reviewed in a timely manner, preferably one to two months after receiving them. If it is your preference that the review is posted closer to the publication date, please state so. All of my reviews are also posted to Goodreads and Amazon. If I do not finish the book I will not review it. It is, however, rare for me not to finish book. While I will accept e-books (pdf only) for review, my preference is hard copies.

My reviews include a Goodreads synopsis, publication details, pages and my thoughts on the book, what I liked and didn't like and who I believe would enjoy the book most. I do not bash books and try to stay as positive as possible but all my reviews are honest and I will never lie when it comes to my opinion of a book. I will never sell an ARC given to me; all books that I receive remain on my shelves.

About Me

Hello, and welcome to my blog. My name is Edel and I am a 24 year old English and Lit graduate who is currently undertaking a gruelling masters in Museum Studies of all things. I am also a book blogger who loves nothing more than getting lost in a new world. When I am not absorbed in the wondrous world of books I am away in my own fantasy world. I write my reviews as if I were sitting down chatting with a friend.  My love for reading, and ranting and raving over books led to the birth of The Irish Bookworm. My favourite genre by far is fantasy as, in the words of Dr. Seuss: “I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.”. My pet peeves in books are romance driven plot lines and poor female characters.

I love to meet new people, especially those who love books, so if you would like to find out more please feel free to contact me.
